Notes on data changes

Here we list notes explaining important emissions changes for the country.

  • Data from BTR1 has been replaced by data from the 2025 National Inventory Submission. This leads to changes in several sectors and gases which are small in terms of total emissions and mostly limited to 2023.
    • CH4 from waste is lower for 2023 as CR data replaces the EDGAR based extrapolation and thus the high growth rates in the EDGAR data.
    • CO2 in the IPPU sector is higher for 2023 because CR data replaced EDGAR growth rate based extrapolation in 2.A
    • For CO2 in 1.A CR data has changed a little for recent years. CH4 and N2O data have higher relative changes bu the influence on total emissions is small.
    • For HFCs 2025 CR data is higher for recent years than older CR data and EDGAR
  • Changes in the TP scenario are very small and come from the updated EI data for energy CO2.

Changes by sector and gas

For each scenario and time frame the changes are displayed for all individual sectors and all individual gases. In the sector plot we use aggregate Kyoto GHGs in AR6GWP100. In the gas plot we usenational total emissions without LULUCF.
