Notes on data changes
Here we list notes explaining important emissions changes for the
country.
- Data from BTR1 has been replaced by data from the 2025 National
Inventory Submission. This leads to changes in several sectors and gases
which are small in terms of total cumulative emissions, but larger for
2023.
- Energy CO2 is higher for 2023 because the low growth rates of EI2024
data have been replaced by country reported data (EI2025 is actually in
line with CR data thus this change applies to the TP time series as
well)
- CO2 in 1.B.2 is much lower because the CR data shows declining
emissions for 2023 while EDGAR shows increasing emissions which lead to
increasing emission in v2.6.1.
- CH4 from waste is slightly higher for 2023 as CR data replaces
extrapolation with EDGAR growth rates.
- CH4 and N2O from livestock are slightly lower for 2023 as CR data
replaces extrapolation with FAOSTAT growth rates.
- CO2 from M.AG.ELV is much lower in 2023 because CR data for 2022 is
lower.
- Changes for cumulative emissions are very small
- Changes in the TP scenario are very small and come exclusively from
the updated EI data for energy CO2.
Changes by sector and gas
For each scenario and time frame the changes are displayed for all
individual sectors and all individual gases. In the sector plot we use
aggregate Kyoto GHGs in AR6GWP100. In the gas plot we usenational total
emissions without LULUCF.
