Notes on data changes

Here we list notes explaining important emissions changes for the country.

  • The 2024 inventory data replaces the 2023 inventory data. For the 2024 inventory the IPCC2006 guidelines have been used for the first time. The different accounting guidelines lead to higher emissions and shifts of emissions between sectors. This mostly affects CO2 emissions in 1.A and 2.B/C and HFC emissions which are much higher for recent years now. Fugitive emissions are affected as well. NF3 is included for the first time in the inventory.
  • The TP time-series has changes in energy CO2 from new EI data and also covers NF3 for the first time (from 2024 inventory)

Changes by sector and gas

For each scenario and time frame the changes are displayed for all individual sectors and all individual gases. In the sector plot we use aggregate Kyoto GHGs in AR6GWP100. In the gas plot we usenational total emissions without LULUCF.
