Notes on data changes

Here we list notes explaining important emissions changes for the country.

  • CRT data from BTR1 has been added covering 1994-2022 with some gaps completely replacing data from the UNFCCC DI portal. This introduces very high changes to data in many sectors and total emissions.
    • The most important changes for 2020 are for CH4 from waste and livestock. Waste CH4 is much lower for all years while livestock CH4 is higher after 2010. 1994 is not estimated for BTR1 for the AFOLU sectors.
    • For the latest years energy CO2 is higher because country reported data replaces extrapolation based on CDIAC and EI growth rates.
    • CH4 from M.AG.ELV is now zero because it is reported as zero in BTR1.
  • The main changes for the TP time-series is a reduction in energy CO2 originating from the new EI data. As EI data is only used post 2020, the change only affects the latest years.
    • The TP time-series now covers CO2 in M.AG.ELV as this is takes from the country reported data.

Changes by sector and gas

For each scenario and time frame the changes are displayed for all individual sectors and all individual gases. In the sector plot we use aggregate Kyoto GHGs in AR6GWP100. In the gas plot we usenational total emissions without LULUCF.
