Notes on data changes

Here we list notes explaining important emissions changes for the country.

  • New country reported data from BTR1 where data for 2020-2022 comes from the CRT files and data for 2000-2019 is read from pdf and downscaled using the 2020-2022 data where necessary. Changes in total emissions are small but some individual sectors have larger changes.
    • CH4 emissions in 3.A differ for all years and are higher for some years and lower for others.
    • CH4 and N2O from agriculture without livestock also have changes for all years. Emissions in recent years are lower because the growth rates in country reported emissions are lower than the FAO growth rates used for extrapolation in v2.6.1.
    • HFC emissions are lower before 2016 and higher after 2020.
    • IPPU emissions have changed for all subsectors and gases.
    • Changes in energy CO2 are small (but still influence total emissions due to the importance of the sector) and come from CR data replacing EI growth rate based extrapolation
  • Changes in the TP scenario are very small and mainly come from the updated EI data for energy CO2.

Changes by sector and gas

For each scenario and time frame the changes are displayed for all individual sectors and all individual gases. In the sector plot we use aggregate Kyoto GHGs in AR6GWP100. In the gas plot we usenational total emissions without LULUCF.
