Notes on data changes

Here we list notes explaining important emissions changes for the country.

  • The 2024 inventory data replaces the 2023 inventory data.
  • HFC emissions have changed from 2023 to 2024 inventory. The English summary of the inventory report does not give an explanation for the change
  • N2O emissions from the IPPU sector are much lower because the 2024 inventory shows a steep emissions decline for N2O in 2.B and 2.E for 2022. The EDGAR data used in PRIMAP-hist v2.6.1 for 2.B does not show this decline. For 2.E extrapolation was used which showed an emission increase. As there is no third party data for 2.E the decline is also present in the TP scenario.
  • Energy CO2 data is slightly lower in 2023 because of changed EI data.
  • N2O and CO2 from waste are much higher in the 2024 inventory compared to the 2023 inventory.

Changes by sector and gas

For each scenario and time frame the changes are displayed for all individual sectors and all individual gases. In the sector plot we use aggregate Kyoto GHGs in AR6GWP100. In the gas plot we usenational total emissions without LULUCF.
